Charles Feuilherade

I grew up in South Africa and was exposed to the beautiful world of interiors and lush surroundings in my hometown of Durban. I was influenced by my mother, who worked for an acclaimed interior designer. Cecile Tilley, the famed decorator of Cecile & Boyds in South Africa, was my aunt and another significant inspiration.

I graduated from the University of Natal with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, and emigrated to the United States in 1988. After several years as a financial advisor in La Jolla, I moved to Los Angeles in 2003 to follow my passion for interior design. I worked as a showroom sales associate for ten years at the luxury outdoor furnishings company Janus et Cie in the Pacific Design Center, until I was recruited to join Dennis & Leen and Formations as their National Showroom Manager. In this role, I decorated, styled, and managed 14 to-the-trade showrooms at major U.S. cities for seven years.

Blessed with a keen eye and a knack for detail, I helped friends and clients update, upgrade, and decorate their homes and businesses for decades. Deciding it was time to take it to the next level, I formed DESIGNCF in 2019, and am pursuing my life-long dream of managing my own interior design firm.

DESIGN

My philosophy is simple: deliver a habitat that speaks to you, and one in which you feel totally comfortable. I ask clients to provide three words that best describe this. Then, based on my industry experience, resources, and eye for detail, I source and deliver ideas and solutions that create this habitat.

METHOD

Together we create a design plan, determine a budget, and set a timeline. With my established showroom, vendor, and workroom contacts, we coordinate and implement the plan.

I lean toward a timeless, sophisticated aesthetic. The final result will reflect your taste, how you live, and who you are.
